Getting there
Scoot flies Singapore to Belitung twice a week — Wednesdays and Sundays. Quick hop, and you're on the island. Check current schedules before you book.
Wednesday to Sunday makes a natural four-night trip. Sunday to Wednesday if you only have a long weekend.
My local guide
I'm not from Belitung. YenYen is. She's the one who knows which boatman to call, which village road actually goes through, and where to eat after. Everything on this site that's accurate is probably down to her. Everything that's wrong is mine.
Where I stay
I keep going back to Swiss-Belresort Belitung. Good views, and the staff have always been polite and helpful — the kind of place that makes the rest of the trip easy. If you're sorting out where to base yourself, it's a solid starting point.
For durian lovers
There's a durian plantation on the island now, with its first harvest expected around December 2026. If you time your trip right, that's a very good reason to come.
